My line up

Ok so I said I was going to put up the stuff that I grabbed out to put into my portfolio review so I took small screen shots of everything individually. I have to have at least 6 final pieces for the class, as well as I have to have business cards and a resume printed for this class as well. =\ I haven't gotten around to figuring out what I want to do for my business cards because I have no idea what to do. *sigh*

But here's the pieces I originally picked.




These two are part of a previous school assignment.



First one is something I did for fun on the side. The middle one was for Illustration class and the last one I created for this class to show I could do character sheets.



I've decided to use for sure the character sheet, the 3Ds photo, the self portrait, and the Tokyopop logo redesign. I need to decide on two others. The only problem is our teacher wants us to apply something to our work. So like I have to make the 3Ds photo into an ad of some sort... =\

I wanted to use the poster I made, but I need to retake the photos for it. I don't have time to get everyone back together to take the photos so I had to cut it out.

I think my teacher said I could use the Micheal Jackson from Illustrator class, but I don't recall if she said I had to apply it to anything.. I suppose I should figure that out today during class. xD Oh and I can use the personal drawing since I showed her that I used it in something else as well..? o uo So maybe I DO have my 6, I think? xD

It's been a while...

Well I'm in portfolio review this term... If you can even call it that anymore.. ¬ __¬; Oh yeah I guess I should mention that. Our school decided that it would be a good idea to go from having 10 week courses to 5 week courses... Of course the design people of the school complained and bitched about it. Why? Because they also got rid of our breaks between what we used to call terms. So now we've been going constantly week after week 5 weeks after 5 weeks with no break in between. The students of the Visual Communication program made such a ruckus that they decided to give us a 5 week break in the beginning of July because of it. So when July rolls around a lot of people at our school are going to have 5 weeks of free time. Now this isn't exactly what everyone wanted.. All we wanted was a measly break between every 10 weeks of classes. Was that so much to ask for..? Apparently it was so the dean and the president especially threw a fit and decided that a whole month in the summer would be sufficient. A classmate of mine had many talks with the president of the school and even some really nasty remarks were made to her. Basically she told her that if she couldn't make the necessary changes to make the new school's schedule work then she should consider a change in career or live. Something to that extent. The woman was a complete bitch about the situation. I had quit my job prior to the event of all the changes that took place for multiple reasons most of which were personal reasons. However, after the changes with the school it would be near impossible for me to hold a job down with what having to change my availability ever 5 weeks..? Pssh, are they kidding me..!? It was hard enough changing my availability ever 10 weeks at the place I was working when I WAS working. And they expect someone to work full time and go to that school when the schedules change all to frequently..? I think not!

Ahem, aside from that. I have made it into Junior status apparently according to my girl friend. So I'm in portfolio review right now. I have to get at least 6 pieces of work that I deem worthy of showcasing. I got a few together and I'm going to try to get something else done to add it to the collection. When I get all of the stuff together I will post an update here to showcase what I put in the portfolio though. As for now we didn't get much done in last night's class because by the time the fourth person was done speaking with the teacher about their work it was already 9:30PM. So class was dismissed. Hopefully I'll be able to get to add to the portfolio what I want. I'm a littler nervous about what the teacher will really want me to add to the portfolio. =\ She said that we should have something with logo design, something typography wise, and some other stuff. I think it was just more commercial product shit. TAT;; I really want to focus on illustration and drawing and the art aspect not the graphic aspect of it. I am going for multimedia not graphic design after all. I should be allowed more freedom for what I can have in my portfolio. >:O

Anyway, so when I get things settled out I'll share what I'm going to place in the portfolio and then if anything gets tweaked I'll hopefully get a chance post that as well. :3 Oh and resume and business cards too.. I've got to get something like that together too. xD;

Vector imaging finale

For my final in Vector imagining class I decided that I wanted to make those Russian stacking dolls only with pokemon. And I choose my favorite pokemon to do that with. Shinx-Luxray are my absolute favorite pokemans. x3

School this quarter: Corp ID & Vector

So I gots Corporate Identity and Vector Imaging this quarter for classes, I'm really excited to finally learn the tools of the trade in Illustrator because I've been wanting to lean that program for a while. SO I hope that I'm going to enjoy that class. It's being taught by our favorite teacher/instructor so I'm sure things will go smoothly. ^^

We have Corp ID on Mondays and Vector on Wednesdays. I hope that I'll have a bunch of great things to show off and update this blog with in the near future, at least I'm hoping to. c:

Illustration Finale

So this is my final my illustration class. We had to pick a food to make an advertisement for. We were given an assignment sheet to help give us some "thought provoking" ideas... They were really lame actually but whatever.

I went with the idea of Salsa at first but I didn't like any of the scenarios that I came up with so I decided to take my girl friend's advice and do something from our favorite video game which would be Monster Hunter. c:
